Rodos BioTarget GmbH (RBT) is an early-stage, privately-held, venture capital-funded biotechnology company, based in Hannover, Germany.
RBT has developed a novel pathway towards immune reconstitution and disease control employing cell-targeted nanocarriers - ‘TargoSpheres®’ - to channel potent bioactive agents into intracellular pathways of cells that direct the antigen-specific immune response. This permits a restoration of immune competence in a variety of disease states as well as providing innovative interventions against various infectious diseases and cancers. RBT’s initial development program is directed at eliminating intracellular reservoirs of the human immunodeficiency and hepatitis C viruses as well as restoring immune competence against hepatocellular carcinoma and colorectal adenocarcinoma.
Having achieved an effective nanocarrier targeting technology directed at antigen-presenting cells, RBT also collaborates with partners in the pharmaceutical industry to achieve improved vaccine responses in a variety of other cancers and infections. Additionally, in partnering with established pharmaceutical enterprises, RBT’s broad application platform shall be applied to life-cycle management as well as to improving the efficacy of existing treatments in multiple disease entities, thereby broadening its overall marketing potential.
